About the Project

The Client

Reef Magic, a subsidiary of Experience Co Limited Group, is a proudly Australian-owned and operated company that has been providing services to the Great Barrier Reef since 1997. In 2021, the company underwent a comprehensive rebrand, updating its branding assets to complement its new state-of-the-art pontoon located 45km east of Cairns at Moore Reef.

Reef Magic enlisted the help of Bang Media to revamp its branding in preparation for the launch of its new pontoon. Bang Media’s design team worked closely with Reef Magic to refresh all of the company’s branding assets, including logos, patterns, icons, marketing materials and internal documents.

To ensure that the rebrand accurately reflected Reef Magic’s vision, the Bang Media team conducted extensive research; including experiencing the product first-hand to ensure proposals matched the Reef Magic experience. It was important for the team to take into account their target audience, the Great Barrier Reef tour market, as well as the company’s values and cultural aspects. The end result was a modern and stylish brand that sets the company apart in a competitive tourism market.

Discovery & Stylescapes

Equipped with a thorough understanding of the business, we presented 3 Stylescapes; these are like an advanced mood board. This process helps both us and the client envision the future possibilities of their brand. Our presentation included three distinct Stylescapes, each exploring a unique direction and mood. Option 2 was selected, which paved a clear direction for the new logo & branding.

Patterns

Part of the rebrand was to incorporate a mixture of seamless and stylish patterns to showcase across its new look Pontoon and marketing collateral. We’ve put together a wide range of different colour combinations to allow the brand to remain consistent, but also not overly repetitive.

Icons

We put together a range of unique icons to help define and support the brand.

Brochure Design

While we were finalising Reef Magic’s rebrand, Bang Media had the opportunity to design a 6 Page A4 Brochure to include as part of their marketing collateral. By taking a lot of the critical information from their existing artwork – we were thrilled to see it all come together, using elements from their new brand guide, forming Reef Magic’s new look brochure.
