We captured the inaugural JCU Northern Australian Indigenous Datathon event, where data professionals, indigenous communities, and students came together to build technology-driven solutions. let’s just say, it was a real data-driven success that they asked us back to film it again the next year!
About the Project
The Client
Established in 1961, James Cook University (JCU) has campuses located in Cairns, Townsville, Brisbane and Singapore. Ranked in the top 2% of Universities worldwide, JCU offers study programs in diverse disciplines including medicine, nursing, business, law, social sciences and education. JCU places immense importance on collaborative spaces and opportunities to encourage the development of ideas that have the potential to change lives.
JCU engaged the services of Bang Media’s videography team to create a highlights video of their inaugural JCU Northern Australian Indigenous Datathon event in 2022, held in the state-of-the-art Ideas Lab on the Cairns campus. Important elements of the brief provided by JCU included capturing speeches from keynote speakers, footage of group presentations, closed interviews with participants and general footage from the event. The final deliverable would be then used to promote the event to potential sponsors and future participants.
A team of videographers attended the three-day event, working together to ensure that extensive event coverage was achieved and allowing a diverse range of footage to be collected. From this, the videography team was able to create an engaging, artistic event video including all of the elements requested in JCU’s initial brief.
Bang Media was honoured to attend the event again in 2022.
